One position that Nebraska has gone after pretty aggressively since Scott Frost took over has been running back. The new staff seems to want to infuse some speed into the running back room that returns all of the key contributors from last season.
Over the Dec. 8 weekend, Nebraska hosted 3-star JUCO RB Greg Bell from Arizona Western Community College in Yuma, Arizona. Coming out of that weekend, Bell looked like a lock to join Nebraska’s class. Then came this past weekend where Bell plus three of his Arizona Western teammates all took an official visit to Tennessee and there was a lot of concern the running back would head to Rocky Top.
On Wednesday, the do-it-all back announced he will be attending Nebraska.
Bell is a terrific get for the Huskers who not only adds needed speed in Frost’s offense but he is versatile enough to catch the ball well and is a capable blocker. Bell was an NJCAA 1st team All-American this season racking up 1187 yards and seven touchdowns on 6.6 ypc. Nebraska held off a late surge from Tennessee to land Bell.
