The Huskers will have a big-time 2022 quarterback in town for the game against Northwestern.
Sources confirmed to Hail Varsity Saturday morning that Walker Howard, a standout at St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, is on the way to Lincoln for an unofficial visit. Howard, who stands at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, is already building an impressive offer sheet. Over the summer he picked up offers from LSU, Texas A&M and Alabama. He does hold an offer from Nebraska.
He comes from a good football family since his father Jamie played quarterback at LSU under BTN’s Gerry DiNardo. Howard is a dual-threat quarterback who showed his athleticism in a spring combine setting. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.76 seconds, completed the 20-yard shuttle in 4.46 seconds and recorded a vertical jump of 31 inches at The Opening New Orleans regional on March 10.
Stay tuned to Hail Varsity over the weekend for the young quarterback’s thoughts on his time in Lincoln.
