Huskers in Pursuit of a ‘British Invasion’ from the JUCO Ranks

February 28, 2018

Rising sophomore junior college offensive tackle Bamidele Olaseni‍ from Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas, has been one of the hottest JUCO prospects in the country lately. The big man (6-8, 320) has racked up offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Tennessee and Nebraska all since January.

Olaseni tells me that he has been talking to the Nebraska staff for five weeks and he is most often in contact with outside linebackers and special teams coach Jovan DeWitt. He says that he doesn’t have any firm visit plans as of now to see Lincoln, but the staff is trying to get him out for a spring practice.

Since he is unsure of when he wants to make a decision, I asked the agile big man what some things are he is looking for in a college.

“The ability to finish my computer science degree and a winning culture,” he said.

Olaseni did mention that right now Tennessee is recruiting him the hardest, and the Volunteers are standing out to him because they are always in contact.

Nebraska will go hard after junior college offensive tackles this cycle, and have offered several already. Olaseni is one of the best tackle prospects in the junior college ranks, and it’s easy to see why when you watch his film. It is rare that you see guys his size with such quick feet. He would be the perfect fit on Greg Austin’s offensive line.

Keep an eye on the lineman from London who calls himself the “British Invasion.”
