The Huskers just picked up their first running back commitment of the 2021 recruiting class. Georgia running back Gabe Ervin announced on Tuesday that he would be joining Nebraska’s 2021 recruiting class.

Ervin gives Nebraska its second Georgia native of this recruiting class joining wide receiver Shawn Hardy. There has been at least one Georgia native in every class since this staff arrived. Ervin (6-0, 200) makes a great fit as another player from the Peach State. The runner played a big role in helping his team to a Class 5A state championship last season. He chose Nebraska over a top five that included Michigan State, Georgia, Arizona State and Duke.

As a junior Ervin rushed for 1,200 yards and got into the end zone 15 times. It’s even more impressive that Nebraska landed him considering he hasn’t visited Lincoln yet. He was able to visit Georgia and Duke from his top five schools.
The Huskers now sit at 10 known commitments for the 2021 recruiting class.
