Huskers Land Commitment from Georgia ILB Chris Paul

March 20, 2020

The Huskers just added a commitment during the slowdown.

Inside linebacker Christopher Paul Jr.‍, (HV Rating: 85.3) joined the Huskers’ class of 2021 on Friday. He made his announcement on Twitter.

Paul is one of a handful of Nebraska targets who already had an official visit set up to Lincoln. He is scheduled to make the trip on June 12. He had another official visit set up to Cincinnati and was heavily linked with Michigan State as well.

Nebraska and Paul have been locked in on each other for quite a while. At 6-foot-1 and 217 pounds, he projects to be a classic Big Ten thumper in the middle of a defense. The Georgia native has taken a couple visits to Lincoln including a game day last season. After his visit last fall for the Wisconsin game, he told Hail Varsity about his great experience in Lincoln. It was that weekend where he really found that family vibe he is looking for.

“I want it to seem like I never left home,” Paul said. “The coaches are just like my dad. They are on me about my grades and I respect that. If they are on me about my grades and how I perform on the football field too. That’s basically the only thing I’m looking for along with the relationship I build with the coaches as I go along. Also, the fan base. Even if they are on a losing streak, Nebraska still sells out games and that says a lot.”

The Georgia native had a highly productive junior season. While leading his team to a state championship appearance he racked up 157 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. Fellow inside linebacker commit Randolph Kpai was quick to congratulate him on Twitter. So was offensive line commit Henry Lutovsky.

Stay tuned to Hail Varsity for more to come on the Huskers’ latest commitment.
