Nebraska continues to search for guys that can get after the quarterback and have offered a new one in the 2019 cycle.
4-star defensive end/outside linebacker Mohamoud Diabate from Auburn, Alabama, fits the type of athletic outside linebacker that Bob Diaco and Trent Bray are searching for in their 3-4 defense. He has a handful of Power 5 offers right now including Louisville, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
Diabate has good size (6-4, 215) and his sophomore film shows good speed off the edge. He’s a very good athlete who could flourish in a CAT linebacker role at Nebraska. Diabate tells me that Nebraska started talking to him very last week and he was offered on Friday.
He also told me that Bray is his primary recruiter and that his high school team made the switch from the 3-4 defense to the 4-3 so he has experience playing both. However, the Huskers are recruiting him as an outside linebacker.
Diabate has no timetable for a decision at the point or any favorites but he does hope to make it to Lincoln for a visit after this season.
