Nebraska has its first wide receiver for the 2021 class. Shawn Hardy II––a 3-star prospect from Kingsland, Georgia––committed to the Huskers on Friday.
Hardy (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) had more than 1,500 receiving yards over the past two seasons for Camden County High School. As a sophomore in 2018 he had 795 yards on 36 receptions (22.1 npc) with five touchdowns. As a junior Hardy boosted his receptions (44) and touchdowns (10) while tallying 782 yards and averaging 17.8 yards per catch.
Hardy is Nebraska’s eighth commit for the 2021 class and the Huskers’ first at an offensive skill position outside of quarterback Heinrich Haarberg, who reacted to the commitment on Twitter.

Hardy also had offers from LSU, Ohio State, Purdue, Kentucky and South Carolina among others. He visited Lincoln for last season’s Ohio State game and is the fourth commit or signee from Georgia since Scott Frost and staff took over in 2018.
Recruiting analyst Greg Smith spoke with Hardy after the commitment and we’ll have more on the site soon.
