Nebraska bolstered its quarterback room this upcoming season with another preferred walk-on.
Luke Longval, a right-handed native of Sioux City, Iowa, committed to Nebraska on Thursday. He’s a former standout at East High School in Sioux City and comes directly from NJCAA National Champion Iowa Western. Longval, 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, played at Iowa Western last season as a Class of 2022 graduate from East. He originally played at Bishop Heelan but transferred out with a coaching change.
After a great camp I’m excited to announce that I have been offered a PWO from the University of Nebraska. I want to thank @CoachStrohmeier and Iowa Western for my time there. With that, I am officially committed! GBR@CoachMattRhule @Adam_DiMichele @Coach_Satt @HuskersCJC pic.twitter.com/owSNn3s1bb

The gunslinger attended the Elite 11 camp in Los Angeles, Rise and Fire camp in Chicago and the QB Collective in Chicago. Longval participated in the post-graduate camp earlier this month and returned to Lincoln on Thursday when he made his decision.
Longval joins Nebraska’s quarterback room alongside preferred walk-on Jack Woche, a transfer from Ole Miss. Scholarship quarterbacks consist of Jeff Sims, Heinrich Haarberg and Chubba Purdy.
