One of the hot topics of the offseason for Nebraska was that the Huskers would not be taking a 2018 quarterback. I wrote about the dangers of not taking a quarterback in the 2018 class earlier this summer.
After losing out on its top target at the position, Colson Yankoff in a surprising commit to Washington, the school of thought was that Nebraska would focus on the top 2019 target Grant Gunnell, but then he committed to Texas A&M. Now that we are four games into the season and we have seen more from Tanner Lee and perhaps a lack of confidence in Patrick O’Brien, is there anything to suggest that Nebraska may be back on the market looking for a 2018 quarterback?
My sources say that the Huskers are poking around looking for potential quarterbacks to flip. Key phrase there being “flip,” so they are looking at committed players but who ? Lets take a look.
The 3-star gunslinger (6-5, 215) has tremendous size and is off to a fast start in his senior season. Nebraska has kept in contact with the Oregon State commit and with the Beavers off to a slow start, the door could be open.

The 4-star quarterback from Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, has long been a favorite target of Nebraska’s in the 2018 class. It was surprising when he committed to Washington despite them having another highly-rated 4-star quarterback committed. Yankoff had to recover from meniscus surgery over the summer but has 708 yard and 5 passing touchdowns through 3 games.
Shough committed to North Carolina before getting a Nebraska offer. He visited Nebraska with his mom over the summer and had a good visit and shortly after that he blew up, receiving offers from Michigan and other top programs. Perhaps a closer look at his senior film was needed before Nebraska turned up the heat on his recruitment.

Sirmon is one of the handful of quarterbacks that Nebraska has actually offered for the 2018 cycle. He has a big arm and the prototypical size you want at the position. He is the other highly-rated quarterback committed to Washington He has been quiet but west coast contacts say he was not thrilled about an additional signal-caller being added to the Huskies' class.
Perhaps the most intriguing name on the list for a variety of reasons. The Florida commit has been openly recruiting Nebraska’s top recruit, Brendan Radley-Hiles, to Florida, and they are close friends. If everyone buys into the smoke for the Gators because they are friends, then it’s likely that they have had conversations about Corral and Nebraska as well. Corral hold a Nebraska offer and has taken all Florida commit mentions from his social media. Add into the mix that Corral plays with 4-star defensive back and week-one visitor Aashari Crosswell and potential visitor, 4-star wide receiver Jalen Hall, and there are plenty of connections to be made. Plus, Florida is looking at some serious trouble with the multi-player credit card fraud situation.
