Tabor, Iowa, native Seth Malcom has been to Lincoln many times already. The 3-star (HV Rating: 84.3) inside linebacker visited Nebraska three times in 2019: a spring practice, the spring game and a game day in the fall. He made his fourth visit to Nebraska for the Huskers’ big Junior Day over the weekend. It was another good one for Malcom.

“[The visit was] pretty good,” Malcom told Hail Varsity. “It was just kind of a refresh for me. I’ve already seen everything but it was nice to talk to some of the guys.”
The Fremont-Mills standout said that he is “for sure” getting more comfortable with Nebraska’s staff and players. That familiarity is a big reason why Coach Scott Frost and his staff have made it a priority to get top targets on campus multiple times throughout their recruitment.
In Malcom’s case, the familiarity now extends to his parents. But even knowing what to expect, his parents still enjoyed themselves over the weekend.
“They loved it,” he said. “Every time we come back there is always something new to see or talk about.”
The Huskers were among the first to offer Malcom a scholarship. The staff saw his potential early coming from eight-man football. Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander—who leads the charge on Iowa targets—has been the point person on his recruitment. The defender spent most of his time on Saturday with Chinander, inside linebackers coach Barrett Ruud and Frost.
Malcom did get to experience a couple of new things on this visit. There has been some change on the staff and he was able to meet the new coaches. He also talked with some prospects that he had heard about but didn’t previously have the chance to meet. Right now, the plan is for Malcom to take his official visit to Nebraska in the summer.
He and his family had a busy weekend of visits. After making his latest trip to Nebraska, Malcom checked out Minnesota's Junior Day.

Greg is the Recruiting Analyst for Hail Varsity and has covered Husker athletics since 2013. He has always had a passion for sports while growing up in the Chicago area. As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He has covered many events from the Rose Bowl to championship boxing matches. If he’s not talking sports, he’s hovering over his grill. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
