The Huskers continue to search far and wide to add talent to the linebacker room. The team currently has no inside linebackers committed for the class of 2020. Over the weekend, the team hosted JUCO inside linebacker Eteva Mauga.

The Diablo Valley College standout was pleased with what he found in Lincoln. He took the trip with his parents.
“It was very eye-opening and let’s just say it exceeded my expectations,” Mauga explained.
There were a couple of the things that specifically caught his eye during the visit: how organized the staff was and how nice the facilities and campus were. Mauga is originally from American Samoa and was the JUCO player of the year in his conference. He posted 62 tackles, including 23 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He liked his time getting to know the coaching staff in person.
“It’s straight business,” he said. “They had their goal and I had mine. I think by working together, both sides will be able to achieve it.”
Mauga described the Nebraska staff as respectful and honorable men. He said they are the type of coaches he would entrust the next two or so year of his college career to. He has two season left to play after enrolling at his school of choice next month. The defender s said that the staff loves how he closes and runs through most of his tackles.
With the visit completed and no more trips on the schedule, Mauga will sit with his family and come to a decision. He told me that a decision is coming between Thursday and early signing day.
Coach Scott Frost is expected to go in-home later this week.
