This weekend marks Nebraska's first opportunity to host prospects for a conference game.
Nebraska will host some important visitors on Saturday to get them around the atmosphere of Memorial Stadium for the matchup with Purdue. Nebraska currently has 17 verbal commitments. The Huskers will also host a barbecue over the weekend for key visitors as well.
Let’s breakdown where each prospect is in their recruitment.
2019 Official Visitors
3-star OL Jeremy James
The Ole Miss 3-star (HV Rating: 86.4) offensive line commit from North Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia, will be in Lincoln for an official visit this weekend. His family will be joining him on the trip. James committed to Ole Miss back in June but Nebraska did not really take him off of its board and continued to talk with him frequently. The lineman from the Peach State has versatility to play tackle or guard at the college level.
There is confidence in North Stadium that he can be flipped with a good visit.
3-star ATH Aaron Beasley
The 3-star safety/linebacker has been committed to Tennessee since June. However, he has still kept his options open including a trip to check out the Florida Gators. Now, he is set to be in Lincoln this weekend.
The twist here is that every other program likes him as a safety and the Huskers would like to utilize his speed and hard-hitting ability as a linebacker. Barrett Ruud is the lead recruiter for Beasley who is intrigued by the Huskers’ pitch.
3-star S Quinton Newsome
The defensive back from Suwanee, Georgia, joined the class back in August after taking an unofficial visit to Lincoln with his family. Now he is back for his official where he is sure to play the role of recruiter for the other prospects on campus who aren’t committed to Nebraska.
2019 Unofficial Visitors
DE Brant Banks (Westbury Christian)
Banks, the talented lineman prospect from Texas is making his second trip this season to Lincoln for a game. He was in town for an official visit week one for the Akron game and really enjoyed his trip despite the rain out.
It’s a great sign that he is returning for an unofficial so soon without taking any other visits. He’s on commit watch.
