The Huskers are looking to add another wide receiver or two in the 2019 class to go along with Jamie Nance. Could they be on the verge of offering Khatib Lyles out of Parkland High School in El Paso, Texas?
The speedy pass-catcher stands at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He was scheduled to make a commitment announcement on Oct. 24 but has delayed that since he has been receiving new interest. One of the schools that has showed interest late is Nebraska.

I caught up with Lyles on Wednesday night. He said that he has been in contact with running back coach Ryan Held the most of anyone on the staff so far.
“We’ve been going back and forth for a minute now," Lyles said. "He’s genuinely a nice dude, you know. Nice coach, he knows how to develop his players to become pretty much like superstars. So, I’m really looking forward to that.”
Some of the wideouts that Lyles likes to watch on the weekends are Jerry Jeudy, Julio [Jones] and Odell Beckham. He also has some specific things he is looking for in a future school.
“Really just a family-based environment," Lyles said. "How they develop their players to be the best they can be and of course the academic portion.”
Indiana, Utah, Kansas, UTEP and Yale are among the schools that have offered him so far. However, he also said there has been a lot of interest from Illinois, Virginia and Syracuse lately too. Distance is also not a factor for Lyles who just wants to find the best program for him.

>> Nebraska hasn’t recruited many tight ends this cycle but one player to keep an eye is Skylar Loving-Black from San Jose, California. He presents some interesting matchup problems and Nebraska could get an official visit from him.

>> Tony Wallace, a defensive back at Independence Community College, picked up an offer from Nebraska last night. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because Donte Williams tried to recruit him late in the 2017 cycle before he chose Arizona.
