Nebraska Recruiting: Happy Early Signing Day Eve

December 19, 2018

Recruiting never stops and it's easy to miss the top stories day-to-day. Recruiting analyst Greg Smith recaps all things Nebraska recruiting news, analysis and more so you never miss a thing.

We have made it to eve of the early signing period. Less that 24 hours from now, the fax machines will be cranked up and a lot of the recruits you’ve been following all cycle long will be officially signing with the Huskers.

I’ve described the feeling around Signing Day as one that will be drama-free but productive for Nebraska. The bulk of that feeling is due to the wide belief that 21/22 current commitments will sign their letters of intent tomorrow without any problems. The one exception on the commit list is junior college offensive lineman Desmond Bland, who is now expected to sign in February.

Another reason for the lack of drama is that unless it was extremely secret, none of Nebraska’s commits took any visits to other schools during the contact period. In general with the 2019 recruiting class, once you gave your verbal pledge to the Huskers, you were done with the process.

Just because the class is stable doesn’t mean there can’t be some excitement in the form of new commits tomorrow. There are four decisions to be made tomorrow involving Nebraska and barring any last-minute surprises (hey, it’s recruiting), the Huskers should pick up new commitments.
