After the Huskers’ loss to Illinois on Saturday, one of the most common questions I received was what Nebraska’s commits thought. It’s a normal thing to ask. Coach Scott Frost and company are still selling the vision of what they want the program to be to recruits.
A pair Nebraska’s commits took to social media on Saturday and were confused by what they saw.

It was a day in which the Huskers had no answers on the field. Frost was asked after the game about being concerned if he has to sell the notion of progress to people.
“If I pay attention to what’s going on outside, that’s certainly a fair judgment to make after today,” Frost said. “I know what I have in that locker room. I have a bunch of high character kids, and I have growing talent. We’re going to get it fixed. I have as much or more confidence today than I’ve had. It simply was bad today. That starts with me and goes to the whole team. The guys have got to prepare a little better. The coaches need to prepare a little better. We’ve got what we need in that locker room.
“To win, we’ve got to bring it together.”
This did not look like the same hungry team we saw the first few weeks of the season. The questions about the big picture outlook under Frost are fair right now. Frost’s confidence in the direction of the program remains steady.
The 2021 commits took to social media to show various levels of support after the dust settled.

Tight ends coach Sean Beckton said last week that the Nebraska staff uses Sunday as big recruiting days. They spend a good chunk of the day on Zoom with prospects and showing them all that Nebraska football has to offer. It’s fair to say that some of those usual calls on Sunday included talks with current commits. That confidence that Frost displays needs to be infused into the 2021 class. They need to stay strong as the Huskers work out their struggles on the field.
The class of 2021 for Nebraska wants to be part of the solution. That is obvious if you look at the number of them who plan to early enroll. As of right now, nine members of the class are set to enroll early this January:

Transfer linebacker Chris Kolarevic will also enroll in January. Nebraska has done a good job building its class to this point. The Huskers just need to show enough fight to keep this ready to be part of the team that brings success back to Nebraska football.
