Nebraska Recruiting: Huskers Host an Intriguing Mid-Week Visitor

May 15, 2019

Recruiting never stops and it's easy to miss the top stories day-to-day. Recruiting analyst Greg Smith recaps all things Nebraska recruiting news, analysis and more so you never miss a thing.

This week Nebraska hosted an intriguing visitor from the state of Kansas.

Quinton Stewart, a 6-4, 230-pound athlete made his way to Lincoln for an unofficial visit. The class of 2020 prospect was joined on the trip by his dad, uncle, and cousin.

Stewart who is mostly being recruited as a tight end, is being looked at by Nebraska as an outside linebacker. He first got in contact with Nebraska when defensive backs coach Travis Fisher was through his high school, Salina Central, about a month ago. Since then Stewart says his relationship with the Nebraska staff, including area recruiter Ryan Held, is a good one.

The Kansan told me that everyone who came on the trip had a really good time and that they are all very impressed with what they have going on in Lincoln. While Stewart doesn’t have an offer from Nebraska yet, he does hold one from Iowa State, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

When asked what he’s looking for in a future school, his answer would make the Nebraska coaching staff smile.

“Well, I love playing football, so I would mostly be looking for a program that I can fully commit to and get behind 100 percent.”

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stewart back on campus this summer for a camp or a game this fall.
