We are just a few days away from the sold-out Red-White Spring Game on Saturday. Pretty soon, fans will get their first look at the team inside Memorial Stadium. In addition to getting the first look at guys like Adrian Martinez since last season, Saturday will be a huge recruiting event. We have had a running list of confirmed official visitors going for a week now but there is so much going on, it calls for some midweek recon.
Let’s take a look at some of the most intriguing things happening right now in Husker recruiting.
>> Nebraska will host its second official visitor of the spring this week when Highland Community College defensive tackle Jahkeem Green (6-4, 300) comes to town. This will be his second trip to Lincoln this fall. It bodes well for the Huskers that he is making a return trip so soon. It’s also interesting that Green is technically a 2019 recruit so he would be eligible this summer should he pick Nebraska.
>> Earlier this spring, Nebraska hosted the talented trio of offensive tackle Turner Corcoran, wide receiver Xavier Watts and defensive end Blaise Gunnerson for a practice. After that trip all of them confirmed to me that they got along well and could see themselves playing together in Lincoln. Now all three will be back in Memorial Stadium for the spring game to continue building their relationship as each of them aren’t far off from a college choice. I’ve been told that they all talk frequently so that is something to keep an eye on.

I do have Corcoran on commit watch this weekend. Nebraska is also in a great spot currently with Watts and Gunnerson.
>> With 4-star defensive tackle Nash Hutmacher’s official visit to Lincoln last week and Green taking an official visit this weekend, don’t lose sight of 4-star defensive tackle Jamar Sekona. The California native will be in Lincoln this weekend with his coach. The Huskers staff is very high on him. I even went out on a limb and put in an early prediction for him to be ‘N’.
At this moment, my feeling is that the Huskers would love to add all three of these tackles.
>> There is another pair of wide receivers that are coming to town this weekend. Tommy Christakos, a 3-star from Arizona, and Logan Loya, a 4-star from California, will be on the sidelines this weekend. Both have gone a bit under the radar but each is very talented with different skill sets. Christakos is a bigger wideout at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. Loya is shiftier at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds. Nebraska has an opportunity to jump out in front with each and the Huskers already have a top wide receiver talent, Zavier Betts, in the class.
There will be more to come in Friday’s full Big Red Recon.
