Recruiting never stops and it's easy to miss the top stories day-to-day. Recruiting analyst Greg Smith recaps all things Nebraska recruiting news, analysis and more so you never miss a thing.
The Nebraska coaching staff is out on the road in full force this week. They have been checking in on current commits and visiting with prospects to help close the class of 2020 in a strong way. We’ve even got a running tracker that you can check out here.
One thing that shouldn’t get lost in the shuffle of school and in-home visits is that the Huskers are offering new players while they are on the road. This could be the first time they are seeing a prospect in person. It could also be the first time they’ve seen them in a while and a player has developed. Either way there are lots of new faces popping up on the radar for future classes.
It feels odd to already be looking ahead to the 2023 cycle but Florida athlete Cedric Baxter Jr. got an offer from the Huskers on Monday night. The 6-foot, 195-pound Orlando native already holds a few Power 5 offers.

Simeon Price, a 2021 athlete from Pensacola was offered by Nebraska on Tuesday after speaking with defensive coordinator Erik Chinander. Price was impressive at Nike’s The Opening earlier this year posting a score of 120.57.

California defensive back Kaleb Higgins (6-2, 175) already held offers from Texas A&M, Cal, Baylor and a few others but he added an offer from the Huskers on Tuesday as defensive line coach Tony Tuioti swung through California.

Lawrence High School running back Devin Neal also received an offer from the Huskers on Tuesday. The 2021 prospect had a good conversation with running backs coach Ryan Held. He was excited to get the offer.
“I thought it was awesome that I was getting an offer from a premier program like Nebraska,” Neal said.
He also shared that there is “no doubt” that he will get to Lincoln so he can learn more about the coaching staff and the school. Neal already holds offers from Kansas and Kansas State.

Another Florida athlete, Azareyeh Thomas, added a Huskers offer on Tuesday. The 2022 prospect is already 6-foot-3 and 171 pounds. He was pumped about the offer from Nebraska.
“I was much more than happy,” Thomas said. “I really like Nebraska so I’m just blessed to be in this position right now.”
It’s early in the process for Thomas but he likes what he is seeing and hearing from Nebraska already.
“I’ve never been down there to their school but I’ve watched them on tv and I follow up on them,” he said. “I just like their team’s energy and atmosphere. It’s definitely one of the places I could see myself at.”

There will be plenty more offers to come for future classes over the next couple of weeks. Its important to not to lose track of them completely. In the blink of an eye it will feel like we are talking about if they are signing early or waiting until February like we are with the class of 2020.
