Earlier in the day, I released the latest Greg’s Guys list (my top 10 available prospects after considering Nebraska’s needs and their interest level). For a long time, Huskers linebacker commit Nick Henrich was No. 1 on the list. Once he committed, he was replaced with Wandale Robinson back in August.
Now that Robinson is off to Lexington, a different Robinson has taken his place. Ty Robinson, the 4-star (HV Rating: 92.6) from Gilbert, Arizona, has risen to the top spot. He has long been one of the top defensive targets for Nebraska. He fits very well into what Mike Dawson is looking for in his defensive linemen. Robinson is long and athletic with enough power to slide around along the front.
Robinson has been to Lincoln twice since Frost and his staff arrived including a trip to the spring game. He is scheduled for a very important official visit for the Michigan State game. Back in April when I talked to him after the spring game, he was very high on the atmosphere he saw.
“The fan support is insane," Robinson said. "If support is that crazy for the spring game, I’m sure that game day is off the charts."
As we head toward the early signing period, a lot of eyeballs will shift west toward the defender who still has family in the state.
