Nebraska’s Spring Game visitor continues to grow with mere hours between the present and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Several 4- and 3-star recruits will be in attendance for the annual Red-White Game along with approximately 60,000 Husker fans. At the top of the list are two prominent linemen from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Brandon Baker, the nation’s top offensive lineman, and Aydin Breland, the sixth-ranked defensive lineman and top-35 overall recruit, are both confirmed to visit Memorial Stadium this weekend. The California presence continues with 4-star linebackers Dylan Williams (Long Beach) and Kamar Mothudi (Los Angeles). Both confirmed their upcoming visits earlier this week.
Texas prospects Peyton Morgan (4-star safety), Makai Saina (4-star offensive lineman), William Nettles (3-star corner), Gibson Pyle (3-star offensive lineman) and Tyler Mercer (unevaluated offensive lineman) are attending the Spring Game. Pyle committed to Nebraska earlier this month. Nettles’ visit concludes his stop that started earlier today. Three-star edge rusher Willis McGahee IV from Miami is still confirmed in his unofficial visit.
Nebraska also locked in key visits from in-state recruits. Ainsworth 4-star tight end Carter Nelson is confirmed to visit Lincoln yet again this spring. As is Nebraska commit Ashton Murphy and his Elkhorn South teammate Ben Gustafson and Lincoln North Star lineman Jayden Potter.
Those are all 2024 recruits. A prominent 2025 recruit confirmed he’ll be in Lincoln this weekend as well. Douglas Utu, a 4-star offensive lineman and top-100 recruit in that class out of powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, is coming to Memorial Stadium. Utu already holds offers from Georgia, Penn State, Michigan, Colorado, Tennessee, Oregon and Miami.
Hot off the heels of securing the 2025 commitment of Millard North’s Caden VerMaas, Omaha Westside 2025 linebacker Christian Jones also plans to visit Memorial Stadium on Saturday. He recently shined at an Under Armour camp in Kansas City. USC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma have all offered him since January.

Katy (Texas) High School standout Coen Echols visited Lincoln during Tuesday’s practice and left Nebraska with a scholarship offer. Echols is a 2024 offensive lineman who has just one evaluation among recruiting services (a 3-star). His recruitment started gaining steam since he won offensive line MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase earlier this month. The multi-sport athlete also gained offers from Purdue and Maryland after that performance.
Philadelphia Northeast High School safety Kahmir Prescott includes Nebraska in the final five schools he’s considering. Prescott, a 2024 recruit, is also considering Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt and Wisconsin. Rhule’s staff has strong ties to Pennsylvania and current Nebraska defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy attended Northeast. Overall, Prescott holds a 3-star ranking in the composite but one service rates him as a 4-star recruit. He is a confirmed visitor this weekend.

Fringe top-200 recruit Jacob Smith from Cheshire Academy visited Lincoln for a second time earlier this week and tweeted he plans to take an official visit this summer. Smith is a heavily recruited 4-star edge rusher with ties to Kentucky and Notre Dame. The fast and physical 2024 recruit first arrived on campus as part of Nebraska’s Junior Day last month.
