Nebraska gained the commitment of another under-the-radar camp standout this weekend.
Rex Guthrie, a defensive back from Heritage High in Littleton, Colorado, announced his pledge to Nebraska on Monday after taking his official visit. Nebraska offered Guthrie last week after his Friday Night Lights camp performance. Wyoming and Penn, also with coaches at the camp, offered Guthrie the same day.

The latest Nebraska commit is projected as a safety and stands 6-foot-1, 205 pounds going into his senior year of high school. He squats 445 pounds, benches nearly 300 and runs the 40 in 4.43 seconds. He registered a 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump and a 4.14-second pro agility at the Friday Night Lights camp. Through the last two seasons at Heritage he’s registered 170 total tackles, 11 deflections and five interceptions.
Guthrie is a 3-star recruit in his only evaluation thus far.
He’s the 19th addition to the 2024 recruiting class, the majority of which have committed since June 1. Guthrie joins Donovan Jones, Mario Buford and Callen Barta as defined defensive backs in the class. Evan Taylor, another camp commit, is a defensive back and linebacker hybrid.
