Nebraska Visitor Preview Versus Northwestern for Matchup Under the Lights

September 30, 2021

The Huskers are hosting their biggest visit weekend of the season for the matchup with Northwestern.

There will be plenty of committed visitors in town to help guide the numerous priority prospects that will be in Lincoln. Tight end Chase Androff, outside linebacker Jake Appleget and inside linebacker Ernest Hausmann will be in Lincoln from the 2022 class. Offensive lineman Gunnar Gottula will also be making the trip from across town.

Hawaii outside linebacker Ke’eo Akana is the only 2022 official visitor for the weekend. The Boiste State commit (6-3, 205) is the first player not committed to Nebraska to take an official visit to check out the Huskers this season. A pair of intriguing 2022 prospects are taking unofficial visits this weekend. North Platte linebacker/defensive back Vince Genatone will be in Lincoln for the second time this season. Texas defensive back Alejandro Colbert will also be in town for the Huskers to get a good look at in person. Colbert (6-0, 170) holds nine scholarship offers from around the country but doesn’t hold a Husker offer yet.

The big star power is with the underclassmen visiting this weekend.

There are several 4-star 2023 prospects expected in Lincoln this weekend. Elkhorn South defensive end Maverick Noonan will be in Lincoln. So will Iowa defensive lineman Andrew Depaepe. Outside linebacker Tausili Akana will make his second trip to Nebraska for a visit. Akana’s sister, Keonilei, is on the Husker volleyball team. Teitum Tuioti will be back on the sidelines as he has for every home game this season. Barring any big shakeups, it feels like a matter of time before he is in the 2023 class.

The biggest name on campus will be a 2024 player. Potential 5-star quarterback Dylan Raiola will be taking an unofficial visit this weekend. The signal-caller has continued to pick up offers constantly since wowing everyone at Friday Night Lights this summer. Last weekend he was offered by Texas. Clemson and Alabama are also showing interest in Raiola. Also keep an eye out for 2024 defensive back Mario Buford. The younger brother of current Husker Marques Buford holds an early offer from Oregon. Mario has the look of a coveted defensive back recruit moving forward.
