The decision came as a surprise to many but Hardy has been thinking about the Huskers for a while now.
“I've been talking to Nebraska a lot more than anybody else,” Hardy said. “I've talked to a few Nebraska coaches about every day. Honestly, they're just one big happy family. I just love everything about them, the school and the coaches. I just decided that today would be the day.”
The senior to be has racked up more than 1,500 receiving yards in the last two seasons. The coaches he was in contact with most were offensive coordinator Matt Lubick and tight ends coach Sean Beckton. His relationship with Lubick played a big factor in his decision to pick Nebraska.
“I think he's a great coach,” Hardy said. “I've looked back at his history. He's done a lot over the years. I talk to him every day so we have a great relationship. I feel comfortable with him and I honestly can't wait to play under him.”
Hardy is familiar with Nebraska football history, knowing that they won their share of championships during the glory days. The Georgian is also excited to be part of what Scott Frost is building at his alma mater.
“I know Coach Frost is a great coach, who's just kind of new there again,” Hardy said. “He's building the program and he wanted me to be a big part of that rebuild. I know that I can do great things with him. I'm just excited.”
Hardy has been to Nebraska a couple of times previously. He was most recently in Lincoln for a game day visit when the Huskers took on Ohio State last season, so he’s plenty familiar with the atmosphere and facilities in Lincoln. His parents are pretty excited about his decision and they believe Nebraska is the best overall place for him. The wideout has been in contact with the close-knit 2021 recruiting class saying that they are great guys that he can’t wait to play with.

As Husker fans get to know Hardy who is also a soccer star, he wanted to give a small taste of what people can expect from him.
“I'm fast and quick,” Hardy said. “I'm light on my feet with great hands. I will make a play and make a difference on the field.”
