Gunnerson was in Lincoln to participate in Nebraska’s first Friday Night Lights camp of the summer. The 6-foot-5 and 250-pound outsider linebacker put on a show too, impressing those in attendance.

The official visit that followed after the camp performance was Gunnerson’s fourth visit to Nebraska since last season ended. He was in Lincoln for the Huskers’ spring game and started has built a bond with fellow Nebraska commit Turner Corcoran and priority target Xavier Watts.
Nebraska likes Gunnerson as an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense, and his performance in the Friday Night Lights camp highlighted why. It wasn’t just his pass-rushing moves that impressed but also his eagerness to get extra reps and how much he hustled on the field.
The Huskers hope to start a tradition of cherry-picking top talent out of Iowa. Gunnerson had a handful of scholarship offers to his name and chose Nebraska over Iowa State and Iowa. He is the seventh known commitment of the 2020 class.
