Nebraska commit, 4-star tight end Cameron Jurgens led his team, Beatrice to a 35-6 win over Ralston on Saturday night.
The versatile athlete lined up all over the field, starting the game at running back, before playing tight end, quarterback, punter, middle linebacker and defensive end.
I was able to catch up with Jurgens after the game to get his thoughts on the first win and his plans for the season.
HV: What were your overall thoughts on the first game of the season?
CJ: It’s always great starting off with a win. It’s just great to be out here on the football field. The guys, I thought everyone played well. Line did good, receivers did good, quarterbacks did great. But there are always things we can improve on and get better. We’ll watch film and there’s some stuff we can get better at, and that’s what we’ll focus on.
HV: How fun is it for you lining up all over the place?
CJ: It’s definitely exciting. I’ll do anything to help out the team, that’s what I enjoy doing.
HV: What are your plans for attending Husker games this season?
CJ: Well I’m not too far from Lincoln so I’m going to try to make it to all or most of the home games.
HV: Who are some current commits that you are close with?
CJ: I talk to a few of them. Mainly Will Farniok. Me and him are pretty tight. The recruiting class is looking good so far, so hopefully we keep it up.
HV: What are some your goals this season individually or as a team?
CJ: Have our team make it to Lincoln [for the state title game].
