The 2018 Nebraska recruiting class just kicked into another gear with a huge flip. When running an up-tempo spread offense, a dual-threat quarterback is needed and Nebraska just got one of the best ones in the 2018 recruiting class.
4-star QB Adrian Martinez was the first recruit that Scott Frost and his staff extended an offer to after officially taking the job at Nebraska. The Huskers have consistently conveyed to Martinez and his family that he was one of if not the top priority for them in this transition class. On Wednesday night, Martinez officially left the Tennessee class and became the first quarterback to commit to Scott Frost at Nebraska.

In the end, Martinez was sold on the style of offense Nebraska will run with Scott Frost along with the history Frost has of developing quarterbacks. Martinez and his family felt immediately comfortable with the staff as his father Tony told me after their official visit that he was very impressed with the staff’s effort and energy.
On Tuesday night, Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Callaghan tweeted out a graphic surely aimed at Martinez as he got ready to make his final decision and host Frost and Verduzco.

Martinez did not play his senior year due to a shoulder injury but all accounts are that he will be a full participant in spring ball. He is an early enrollee and plans to sign December 20th.
