It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Donte Williams’ name came up.
“He relates to me more than some of the other coaches,” Steele said. “He’s one of the younger coaches so when he tells me stuff I can really relate to it.”
One of Nebraska’s best recruiting tools is getting recruits to experience a game day at Memorial Stadium. Can Husker fans expect to see him in Lincoln?
“Definitely,” Steele said. “My dad and Coach Donte are going to set something up.”
Steele also told me that the other schools he’s considering besides Nebraska are USC, LSU, Alabama, Stanford, Notre Dame and Michigan.
Things seem pretty positive for Nebraska with Steele at this point. He will be one of the top defensive backs on the west coast in 2019. There’s a long way to go here but once again Williams is doing good work on the recruiting trail.

As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He has covered many events from the Rose Bowl to championship boxing matches. If he’s not talking sports, he’s hovering over his grill. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
