Nebraska’s coaching staff is currently deep into the evaluation period, meaning they can go out to high schools to see prospects and meet high school coaches. There have been a lot of new offers that have gone out during this period that ends later this month but it’s no time to forget about the prospects that Nebraska has made good progress with during the spring. Here are the five prospects mostly likely to be #AllN.
3-star OL McKade Mettauer (Houston, Texas)
The big (6-3, 310) offensive lineman from Houston has flown a little under the radar this spring despite his high interest in Nebraska. Mettauer is a mauler in a key state that Nebraska wants to get back into on a yearly basis. The last I heard from him he was looking to make a decision prior to his senior season which bodes well for the Huskers as he did visit this spring.

4-star QB Luke McCaffrey (Highlands Ranch, Colorado)
The quarterback situation is not completely cleared up yet but the board is starting to reveal itself. So far, the only quarterback to make it on campus this spring is the latest prospect from the football family. McCaffrey is raw as a passer but is a great athlete and processes information well; two characteristics coveted by Scott Frost and Mario Verduzco. It looks like a Nebraska versus North Carolina battle for his services at the moment.
3-star DE Mosai Newsom (Waverly, Iowa)
The defensive lineman has been made a huge priority by the Nebraska staff. His recruitment is led by defensive coordinator Erik Chinander who is also leading the charge of recruiting Iowa. Newsom visited Nebraska three times in the spring with a lot of family joining him on the trips to Lincoln. He currently doesn’t have any other trips planned and could be looking to make a decision sooner than later.
4-star DE Ty Robinson (Gilbert, Arizona)
Robinson made it to Lincoln twice during the spring and came away impressed with what he saw both times. The Higley High standout has strong ties to the state of Nebraska as both his parents went to college in the state and he has a lot of family that lives in here in Nebraska. His recruitment may go quiet for the rest of the summer because he told me he wants to focus on training, but Nebraska is in a great spot to land him.
3-star CB Javin Wright (Chandler, Arizona)
Wright just picked up his offer from Nebraska within the last couple of weeks but finds himself squarely in the mix for most likely to commit next. He is the son of former Blackshirt Toby Wright so he is plenty familiar with the traditions here and told me that he was floored and speechless when he got the offer from Chinander. Wright has some major offers from Arizona, Arizona State and Louisville but is planning a visit during the summer that could end his recruitment.

As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
