On my initial Greg’s Guys list I put a wide receiver from Texas who has not been playing the position very long in the No. 10 slot, 4-star Tommy Bush out of Schertz, Texas. Bush has a great frame (6-5, 187) with tremendous potential and his offer list reflects that with offers from Nebraska, Florida State, Alabama, LSU, Texas and Oklahoma to name a few.
I was able to catch up with Bush yesterday and get his thoughts on his recruitment so far.
HV: What things are you and your parents looking for in a school?
TB: Education and a true relationship with the coaches and just a place I can grow and hopefully be able to fulfill my dream of a shot in the NFL, but if not a great education will be key.
HV: Are you guys concerned at all about distance or are you looking at schools all around the country?
TB: I’m a military child and was born in Alaska and lived in Kansas and Germany and Florida then moved to Texas when I was in the ninth grade so I can adjust pretty much anywhere as long as my mom and pops are good with the people there.
HV: Who are some of the schools recruiting you the hardest?
TB: Texas, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Baylor, Arizona St, Ole Miss, FSU, Alabama, USC and Arizona.
HV: Who are some of the wideouts you are trying to pattern your game after or like watching?
TB: Julio Jones and Dez Bryant.
My feeling here is that the Huskers will be in the mix for Bush and will make his top 11. He told me won’t be dropping that top 11 on Twitter. He says that he will keep that between his family and the schools that are still in the mix. He is certainly one of the most intriguing wideout prospects this cycle for Nebraska.
