It’s week six and the Big Ten somehow keeps trucking along. The teams expected to win keep winning (looking at you, Michigan and Ohio State) and everyone else is just along for the ride. The East Division is definitely in for an interesting road to the championship game. As for the West? Well, we’ll see what happens. That’s the Big Ten right now for you, ladies and gentlemen.
So, how exactly did the Big Ten do in week six? We’ve got your recap, with highlights, links worth checking out and more. We’ve listed each school by record and then alphabetically (just like the Big Ten’s website). Also, rankings are the same as last week as new polls will not be released until Monday.
EAST
No. 4 Michigan, 6-0
Defeated Rutgers 78-0
Ruth’s Chris Steak House apparently has this promotion where you receive a percentage off your meal based on Michigan’s final score. Well, they apparently didn’t plan on the Wolverines shutting out Rutgers 78-0.

However, someone did call and the steak house said the discount was capped at 50% off. Sigh. Too goo to be true, of course.
No. 2 Ohio State, 5-0
Defeated Indiana 38-17
The poor Cleveland Browns.

Nebraska is going to have to be ready for Indiana. The Hoosiers played Ohio State pretty tough and things could get interesting when the Huskers come to town.

Going back to the Big Ten trophies thing… a pig. It’s a pig trophy. It’s great.
“It’s tough, it’s something that lives with you forever. But there’s a lot of football to still be played.” Rallis, on not getting the Pig.

That appropriately sums it all up.

Erin is the Deputy Editor and Digital Marketing Strategist for Hail Varsity. She has covered Nebraska athletics since 2012, which has included stops at Bleacher Report, Cox Media Group’s Land of 10, and even Hail Varsity (previously from 2012-2017). She has also been featured on the Big Ten Network, NET’s Big Red Wrap-Up, and a varsity of radio shows nationwide. When not covering the Huskers, Erin is probably at Chipotle.
