With the XX pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the XX XX drafted former Husker Cethan Carter. The tight end from New Orleans, Louisiana, was the first/second Nebraska player to be selected in this year’s draft.

While often considered a block-first tight end, Carter had 59 career receptions as a Husker. That number placed him at the No. 5 spot on Nebraska’s all-time catches by a tight end list. He also averaged 12.6 yards per catch.
Carter was plagued by injuries his senior season, but he still received honorable mention All-Big Ten by the media his senior year.
