Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander has wanted to get former Huskers Jason Peter and Grant Wistrom together to address the Nebraska football team. He said so earlier this week.
For Chinander, it wasn't a matter of if he'd get Peter and Wistrom to Memorial Staium. It was a matter of when. Peter, who Chinander has met and played golf with, promised to set it up.
Friday night, Peter and Wistrom officially made it happen.
People ask if I miss football. The answer is yes, but only when I’m back in Lincoln!!! ☠️☠️☠️#gbr pic.twitter.com/EtzFSuAuwQ

According to Wistrom, associate athletic director (and former Husker) Matt Davison reached out to make it happen on Thursday. One day later, Wistrom was on a plane to Lincoln.
You never know what the day is going to bring you. On Thursday Matt Davison asked if @blackshirt55 and I had any time to come talk to the University of Nebraska football team and more specifically the Blackshirts. I was on a plane the next day headed to Lincoln.

Thank you very much Clete and Jim Pillen for getting the jet to make it happen. Thank you @coach_frost for having us back. Very excited for this team. This group of men has the opportunity to be the team that rights the ship.

Chinander has said many times how important it is for his defensive staff to "bring the Blackshirts back" to Nebraska. And on Friday, he got some major help from two former Blackshirts in making that happen.
