Nebraska’s depth at inside linebacker took a hit on Friday as freshman Keyshawn Greene entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal. A source confirmed the news to Hail Varsity.
Greene is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker from Wakulla High School in Crawfordville, Florida. He was a 4-star prospect and one of the highest-rated recruits in Nebraska’s 2020 recruiting class (92.3 Hail Varsity Composite rating).
Greene racked up 147 tackles (nine for loss), three sacks, two pass break-ups, one interception and one blocked field goal as a senior for Wakulla. He chose Nebraska over offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and others.
Green is the third member of the 2020 class to enter the transfer portal, joining fellow Florida natives Henry Gray and Jaiden Francois. All three were rated as 4-star prospects per the Hail Varsity Composite.)
Nebraska is returning two of its top three contributors at inside linebacker in seniors Will Honas and Collin Miller. Nick Henrich and Garrett Snodgrass are coming off a redshirt season and the Huskers added another scholarship body to that room this offseason in junior college transfer Eteva Mauga-Clements.
Walk-on Luke Reimer played enough as a true freshman in 2019 to burn his redshirt while Zach Schlager transferred from Colorado State last year to walk on at Nebraska.
