After a 43-36 season-opening win over Arkansas State (0-1) on Saturday, the Huskers got a slight bump in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Nebraska (1-0) received 23 votes for the top 25 in the preseason, but in the latest poll, the Huskers have 30 votes, good for No. 34 in the country. They still remain unranked, but the slight increase is a good indicator of how the rest of the country viewed Nebraska's win and, really, the quality of the team they beat.
Nebraska will have a chance to maybe crack the top 25 for the first time this season with a road win over an Oregon (1-0) team that, while also unranked, received 42 votes itself following a 77-21 win over Southern Utah.
The Huskers play Oregon on Sep. 9 at 3:30 p.m. CT on FOX Sports, though the status of that game could become a little hazy as the week progresses.
The new Associated Press poll was also released on Tuesday with the Huskers outside the top 25.
