The decision comes after Riley’s post-spring game comments that the coaches would take time to evaluate the quarterbacks.
“This week will be kind of a summary time for us and a planning time, and we will have discussions about our team and I’m sure that will be one of the talking points,” Riley said.
Patrick O’Brien also commented on the competition following the spring game, echoing similar comments to Riley’s latest.
“It’s just making us both better,” O’Brien said. “We’re both competitors, and we’re both just good people. We’ve got a good relationship.”
Regardless of Lee’s current status at the top of the depth chart, Riley called the competition “ongoing.”
