Nebraska head coach Mike Riley appears to have generosity in his DNA.
After the Huskers wrapped up their fall camp Thursday, Riley surprised the entire team with tickets to rapper Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. tour at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in downtown Lincoln Friday night.
Now, if Riley purchased the cheapest tickets available on TicketMaster.com (not likely) for his squad, he footed at least a $4,500 bill for them to see Lamar perform.
Lamar, who affectionately refers to himself as the greatest rapper alive, is touring following the release of his certified double platinum studio album DAMN.
Nebraska still has two weeks left until the 2017 season gets under way, but now the Huskers will turn their attention to game prep for their first opponent, Arkansas State, on Sep. 2.
Derek is a newbie on the Hail Varsity staff covering Husker athletics. In college, he was best known as ‘that guy from Twitter.’ He has covered a Sugar Bowl, a tennis national championship and almost everything in between (except an NCAA men’s basketball tournament game… *tears*). In his spare time, he can be found arguing with literally anyone about sports.
