Keem Green is portalling.
The junior defensive lineman—who originally transferred to Nebraska from Highlands (Kansas) Community College in August of 2019—has placed his name in the transfer portal a source confirmed to Hail Varsity.
During his first season with Nebraska, Green played in only three games against Ohio State, Wisconsin and Maryland and added only one tackle in his debut against the Buckeyes. He maintained his redshirt as a result.
Green played in five games during the 2020 season, recording three tackles. Two of those came in the season opener at Ohio State, while the third came against Illinois. Green saw just 39 total snaps of action, including just four total snaps over the Huskers’ final four games of the season.
Green looked poised for a bigger role in 2020 after the Huskers graduated all three of their starters on the 2019 defensive line but it never panned out. Sophomore Casey Rogers and redshirt freshman Ty Robinson emerged on the line, alongside senior Ben Stille and junior Damion Daniels, which limited Green’s playing time.
The Sumter, South Carolina, native was the No. 2 junior college defensive tackle in the country and the No. 18 overall junior college player, per the 247Sports junior college composite. Green will have two years of eligibility remaining.
