Nebraska DT Mick Stoltenberg Reportedly Out Against Purdue

September 29, 2018

Nebraska will be without one of its captains when it takes the field against Purdue.

According to the Big Ten Network, senior defensive tackle Mick Stoltenberg will not play Saturday as he recovers from a knee injury suffered against Michigan last week.

Stoltenberg has battled lower-body injuries over the course of his career but hasn't missed too much time; he has appeared in 36 of a possible 39 games over his career. This appears to be different. He was seen this week on crutches with his left knee heavily wrapped.

With Stoltenberg out of action, that leaves a void in the middle of Nebraska's defensive line. Position coach Mike Dawson said earlier this week that junior Carlos Davis could slide into his role should Stoltenberg miss time, but expect redshirt freshman Damion Daniels to see an increased role as well.

The team is set to arrive at Memorial Stadium around 12:30 p.m. CT. This post will be updated as more information is known.
