When lightning strikes within eight miles of Memorial Stadium, what do you do? Well, you delay the game of course. And when the weather doesn't improve, eventually you cancel the game.
While Nebraska and Akron managed to get through the opening kickoff, lightning quickly took the players off the field. Huskers fans were left in their seats to wait and then ultimately evacuate for shelter.
Fans (and Nebraska student-athletes) found a way to pass the time though, utilizing Twitter for a variety of hilarious tweets.
In case you missed any, here's a quick recap.

As we're walking past the workout room at Memorial Stadium during the rain delay, there are a few players standing at the window. Rylee stops. I look over and she's playing rock, paper, scissors with DiCaprio Bootle through the window. #GBR #Huskers #fanlove
