One of the most well-worn pieces of style advice is to take one last look in the mirror before leaving the house and then remove one item. It's a way to avoid the clutter of over-accessorizing, to keep things simple.
For Nebraska football the one item has has been removed is the triple stripe on the Huskers' pants that has been a fixture of the uniform for most of the past five decades.
Maybe. It's hard to tell from these short, snappy videos designed for social media, but it doesn't look like there are stripes there.

If the pants for 2018 are in fact sans-stripe, it will be something of a throwback to the era in which Nebraska's coach, Scott Frost, was a Nebraska quarterback.
The Huskers started with a triple stripe on the pants –– red-white-red, reversed on the red road pants –– in 1970 for Bob Devaney's first national title. The stripes remained on the pants through to Tom Osborne's first national title in 1994.
For the 1995 season Nebraska debuted plain white pants at home, red on the road. That look was vanquished in favor of the infamous gussets of 2002, a wide red stripe that ran from armpit to knee on the white jerseys. Quickly realized as a one-year mistake, Nebraska was back to plain pants in 2003 before Bill Callahan, of all people, returned the Huskers to the more traditional look of pants with a triple stripe.
Nebraska's has had that look since 2004, minus the occasional throwback or alternate, but it appears to be no more for 2018.
