Delancy, a 3-star prospect in Nebraska’s 2020 recruiting class, hadn’t played any significant time for the Huskers yet this season. He earned a little time as a true freshman on both defense and special teams for Nebraska in the season opener at No. 5 Ohio State. He also saw some special teams snaps against Northwestern and Penn State but did not play against Illinois or Iowa. During the loss to Illinois, Delancy turned to twitter to express his frustration, though he later deleted the tweet.
Delancy chose to play for Nebraska over offers from Louisville, Miami, Missouri, Pittsburgh and Washington State, among others. In high school, Delancy helped lead his team to back-to-back state titles. He racked up over 50 tackles and four interceptions, with three going for touchdowns, in his senior season.
He’s the fourth member of the 2020 recruiting class to to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining linebacker Keyshawn Green and defensive backs Henry Gray and Jaiden Francois. All four are Florida natives.
