Current Forecast
It’s finally September and pumpkin spice seems to be everywhere, but hot weather in Lincoln this time of year is always expected. Good ol’ Mother Nature isn’t going to disappoint this year, either! It’s going to be a warm one in Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 3. Temperatures are going to start off in the morning in the upper 60s and lower 70s and get to around 80 by noon. We’ll top out in the middle 80s in the afternoon with plenty of sunshine and a bit of a northeast breeze.
This is going to be a sneaky kind of heat, too. On Friday, the day before the game, we’ll see temperatures well into the middle 90s. So on Saturday, when temperatures are expected to be “only” in the middle 80s, that’s going to sound pretty cool! But if you’re at the game, sitting in the sun for a few hours right next to 90,000 other people, the heat will creep up on you and may cause some heat related illnesses. So stay hydrated, find the shade often and GO BIG RED!
Here is the hour-by-hour forecast for Lincoln:
Kickoff: Mostly sunny, 82 degrees, northeast wind at 10 to 20 mph.
Halftime: Mostly sunny, 85 degrees, northeast wind at 10 to 20 mph.
End of game: Mostly sunny, 83 degrees, northeast wind at 10 to 20 mph.
