Current Forecast
Nebraska’s first game of the year is in Columbus, Ohio, and overall this is looking like great football weather. A crisp feel to the day, overcast skies and not much wind. A definite fall-feel to the day.
There will be a cold front rolling through Ohio late Friday into very early Saturday morning, so a few lingering showers will be around Columbus at the beginning of game day. As long as that cold front pushes through like it’s supposed to, we’ll get a rain-free kick-off at noon (11 a.m. CT). Even if a few showers are still around, they should clear out by the end of the game.
Temperatures are going to be a little cooler than normal for this time of year in Columbus, which is in the lower 60s for highs. In the early morning, we’ll see the thermometer sitting right around 50 degrees. Temperatures will slowly climb into the middle 50s by kickoff but won’t make it much further than that for the rest of the day. The only thing that might warm us up a little more would be if the sun shows itself by the fourth quarter, but there is only a small chance for that to happen.
The wind is not going to be an issue during the game. It will be light and out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.
