Nebraska-Penn State 2020: Game Day Forecast and Weather Updates

November 13, 2020

Forecast and updates brought to you by Rusty Dawkins of Husker Weather.

Nebraska vs. Penn State

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Date: Saturday, Nov. 14

Time: 11 a.m. CT

Current Forecast

Nebraska’s home opener is Saturday and while we’re usually concerned about the heat and humidity in the first game of the year, this year will have none of that. It will, however, be relatively mild.

We’re going to be on the edge of an exiting high pressure system and an incoming low pressure system Saturday and that means clouds, a few rain chances, and a gusty SW to NW wind. The initial southwest wind will warm us up a little in the morning, then it shifts out of the northwest at 10 to 25 mph and that will have a blustery feel to it. It might feel a little chilly but our average high is near 50 degrees and we’ll push a little bit past that.

There will be a few showers to our southeast early Saturday and some of that may linger near Lincoln, but it’s looking more like we’ll just see some cloud cover early in the day. After that system move east, we’ll start to see a little sunshine, but that low pressure comes our way by the afternoon giving us a chance at some rain after dark. Overall, the game is looking dry with a gusty wind and temperatures pretty close to normal.

Here’s the hour-by-hour forecast:

  • Kickoff: Mostly cloudy, temperatures in the upper 40s, SW wind at 10-20 mph.
  • Halftime: Partly cloudy, temperatures in the lower 50s, west wind at 10 to 20 mph.
  • End of Game: Partly cloudy, temperatures in the middle 50s, NW wind at 10 to 25 mph.
