Nebraska’s football season isn’t over yet.

Nebraska will come into the matchup with a 2-5 record. The Huskers fell 24-17 to Minnesota to finish the 2020 “regular” season. Rutgers enters the game with a 3-5 record, most recently defeating Maryland 27-24 in overtime.
The matchup will be Nebraska’s first with Rutgers since the 2017 season. It will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two. Nebraska currently holds a 4-0 edge in the series, which includes a win at Rutgers in 2015.
Nebraska was originally scheduled to travel to Rutgers on Sept. 5 with the Big Ten’s updated 10-game season schedule. The Scarlet Knights were later removed from the Huskers’ 2020 schedule when the Big Ten changed course and created a new schedule that started in October.
The Week 9 matchups coincide with the Big Ten Championship game between Ohio State and Northwestern.
