Nebraska football will wear patriotic-themed uniforms on Sept. 11 for the Huskers’ matchup with Buffalo. The Huskers shared a video and images of the alternate uniforms on Tuesday.

The uniform is all-white with a faint camouflage print. Both the sleeves and shoes feature the camouflage print as well. As for the helmet, Nebraska has traded the traditional ‘N’ logo for an interlocking NU design the sides.

The announcement video features Nebraska defensive lineman—and former Navy SEAL—Damian Jackson walking through Lincoln’s historic Havelock neighborhood. Nebraska fans join Jackson as well, with signs thanking first responders in the background.
The uniform is designed to thank veterans and first responders of the Sept. 11 attacks. Nebraska faces Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 11, the 20th anniversary of the attack. Nebraska-Rice was the first major college football game to take place following the Sept. 11 attack, 10 days afterward. The shared video also references the moment toward the end.
