Road to Nowhere, a Nebraska-Wisconsin Anti-Preview

October 29, 2020

They can cancel the game, but they cannot cancel the I-80 Preview podcast (which is of no solace to anyone).

Actually, I gave strong consideration to canceling this week’s iteration of the show. I spent a lot of time preparing a preview for a game I was super interested in and intrigued by, only for that work to be rendered useless by Wisconsin’s decision to cancel. (I understand the Badgers’ decision and cast no aspersions.) My gut reaction was just to scrap everything and start preparing for Northwestern.

Instead, Hail Varsity deputy editor Erin Sorensen agreed to talk through the wild week that was with me. And she brought badger facts! (Lowercase very much intended.) If you want to know why “Bucky” is just a nickname for Wisconsin’s mascot, we get into that.

We also go through the twists and turns of this week, talk briefly about Chattanooga (a place and school I know a lot about), discuss the national reputation this unique time has foisted upon Nebraska and more.

You can listen below, but why not just subscribe via your preferred podcast purveyor. It’s available on just about all of them. By next week, maybe we’ll be back to nerdy football stuff. For now, a fun football conversation about a strange football time.

The I-80 Preview podcast is a Hurrdat Media production.
