Nebraska gave back to the Lincoln community once again Wednesday afternoon with visits to various local hospitals. The Huskers were divided between five Lincoln hospitals: Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Bryan LGH East, CHI Health St. Elizabeth, VA (Veterans) Hospital and the Nebraska Heart Institute.
The players spent over an hour at the hospitals, visiting with patients and staff. The visits are part of Nebraska’s annual Thanksgiving outreach to area hospitals.
Coach Scott Frost has spoken about the importance of the visits before, saying he wants his players to get out in the community and help.
"The more our players can be reminded of how much of a role model they are to the people and young kids of this state, the better for our team,” Frost said prior to last year’s visits.
