Nebraska gave back to the Lincoln community Wednesday afternoon with visits to various local hospitals. The Huskers were divided between five hospitals: Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Bryan LGH East, CHI Health St. Elizabeth, VA (Veterans) Hospital and the Nebraska Heart Institute.
The players spent just over an hour at the hospitals, visiting with patients and staff. The visits are part of Nebraska’s annual Thanksgiving outreach to area hospitals.
Coach Scott Frost talked about the importance of giving back on Wednesday, saying he wanted his players to get out in the community and help. It’s important for him that his team learns to be givers and not takes.
"The more our players can be reminded of how much of a role model they are to the people and young kids of this state, the better for our team,” Frost said.
