Nebraska coach Scott Frost addressed the media Monday morning following the Huskers’ 9-6 win over Michigan State. He spoke about Antonio Reed receiving his Blackshirt, Iowa and more.
After Saturday’s performance, Reed officially has his Blackshirt. It was hanging in his locker before practice on Monday. Reed had seven tackles, an interception, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles against Michigan State. And one of those forced fumbles came on a sack in the fourth quarter, which made for a performance Frost thought deserved conference weekly honors.
As for Friday’s matchup with Iowa, Frost said he considers Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz “one of the good guys in this sport.” As for defensive coordinator Erik Chinander (an Iowa alum), Frost joked “he’s finally on the good side.”
Frost also reflected on this season, which didn’t go exactly as anyone planned. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t plenty of good that came from it.
"We're going to look back and cherish this year," Frost said.
